Mr. Siu suggested us not to learn English through listening to songs.
It's not an effective way to better English.
It could only help us develop interest in English.

By the way, may I use 'evoke ... ' to describe the action of 'helping us develop our interest in English'?

Though you may say "A evokes our interest in B", "evoke" is normally used in the sense that something latent is made expressed (i.e. our interest is there, just not expressly shown to others before being evoked).  To mean "develop interest" fresh new, I normally hear people say "A arouses our interest in B."

How many words can you learn from those songs??

If someone aims to build up his/her vocabulary bank, he/she could simply pick up a dictionary(or vocabulary book) and begin the journey of recitation.
Also, please don't misinterpret my words.
My centre is always on the effectiveness of learning English. Even though listening to songs works, it may not be the way I take.
Anyway. I welcome your challenge if you still think my words are misleading after going over them several times.

Frankly, I'm fond of listening to music, especially American/British.
But, it's not a part of my learning. It's just my pastime.

I also like listening to music, especially AmericanWhich singer do you like?I like Akon,Beyonce,Usher, etc.I also like some rappers such as Eminem and Chamillionaire.
最後我想講,所有有英文既地方就可以增強詞庫,
增強唔一定指增多,加深對一個字既了解都算係增強,仲有英文歌係可以幫人擺脫hong kong accent既,原因係因為歌好多時係唱得幾慢(起碼慢過drama的對白),我同我數學老師就係成功例子

Not a bad website. It arouses my interest in English and I think, from the song we learned, we could distinguish the bad English from the good one - that is the ability of a good English user.

A 'good English user' seems like a term that describes someone who's just stuck-up.

Did you mean Folk?
唔好意思...我未聽過 Folk.
要是聽著一d自己根本不喜歡的音樂學習. 那樂趣在哪? 感覺有點本末倒置.
