Hey guys, hope you all had a good Christmas! Just want to share my experience and see if you would shed some light on this :)
I have been in the UK for 8 years and am in final year of my CS bachelor degree. It's been stressful as I started applying for jobs here... I realised that apart from the IT-related jobs, there aren't many options for me... The problem for me is that I do not want to work in this field (I know it's quite ironic as to what I am majoring in). I even start to hate it... I also believe that I will come back to Hong Kong one day for good and especially in Hong Kong, working in IT won't do me any good.
On the other hand, I thought I might like it once I started to work in the industry because It will be different from what I have been doing for the last 3 years and the salary is not bad indeed (back to reality). But at the same time, I believe it will be even harder for me to change to other fields if I have started it...
I am interested in audit and luckily I have got one interview lining up from an audit firm but I just don't want to get my hopes up on this because it is quite difficult to get in... but I will try my utmost because it is probably THE only chance for me to do what I want.
I am just stressed and confused... Should I just go for IT if I fail the audit interview? Should I move back to Hong Kong to seek more opportunities? ...
Sorry for a long thread... it would be great if any of you could give me some advice. Have a happy new year!
