P is atom/molecule?

P is atom/molecule?
P is non-metals so it is a molecule?

But, my exercise book's suggested answer stated that it is an atom.

The publisher is wrong?

P is atom, P4 is molecule

P by itself is an atom. However, phosphorus exists in nature in form of P4 which is a molecule consisting of four P atoms bonded together. Indeed there are three forms (i.e., allotropes) of phosphorus. White phosphorus is waxy solid made of P4 molecules. Red phosphorus is transformed from white phosphorus over time, and it exists as a condensed macromolecules of P4. Black phosphorous is obtained by pressurizing white phosphorus at high temperature; it is a macromolecule in which each P is connected to three P atoms.
