overtime without payment should labour department do somethihg

according to labour law

boss can't force us to ot
how come labour department wont' do anything mate

If including OT time, your salary becomes less than $28 per hour, then you definitely have a case for the labour law. Otherwise, check your contract to see what it said. Once you go to the labour department, I wouldn't stay at that company for long.

supersizeme3 2012-7-7 10:55 PM

no labour law says boss can't force ppl ot without or with payment mate

etplanet0513 2012-7-8 04:20 PM

Some company probably do NOT have OT allowance/salary. So this is possible. I think.

But they CANNOT force you to work overtime. Why don't you just sign off and leave? No point if you just don't like to OT. Your boss will eventually know and fire you then if he really doesn't want you.

edmond_28 2012-7-8 06:06 PM

how long was the ot?

If you don't like the situation, you can quit.

That "someone who steals your good" is not your employer who is paying your salary.  Your logic just does not work.

There are not much you can do other than:

1) Quit and find a new job that never requires to work overtime.
2) Hire an attorney and file a suit.
3) Refuse to work overtime and wait to either be fired or forced to leave.

It is your choice.  You can't always look to the government to do everything for you.

It became a hk culture and it also represent your loyalty and performance in your duty . I was warned by my fxxking boss that I left at 6:30pm.:smile_27: :smile_27: :smile_27:  The city really is dying.

lonewarrior 2012-7-10 01:17 AM

Well, in this case, you either put up or shut up. Get the drift, mate?

supersizeme3 2012-7-10 08:30 AM

you know of course i m not a kid i kno wi's a culture

as he said the city is dying

it's so disguesting when governement says about standard working hour
and we have to follow the contract spirit

and boss never admit they force us ot

he just put pressure to management

so that your supereror will report your misbehaviour up if you dont ot

if they fire you , labour department ask them they said you work no good mate

melonyogloo 2012-7-11 08:04 PM

I am not picking on you.  I just want you to stop having the concept of being "unfair" lingers in your mind.  Think about how to out perform your co-workers and get promoted to move ahead.  It is like to in other parts of the world, you are not the only one.  With economy in the abyss in Europe and the USA, worse time is ahead of us.  Dwelling in negativity won't help you one bit.

ruby616 2012-7-12 10:41 AM

every employer over 7 working day without payment, they are illegal.
