Gratuity & MPF

Say, if there is a gratuity of 10% at the end of a 2-year contract, the employer will deduct their MPF contribution from the gratuity.

Final amount = (Basic salary * 24 months * 10%) - (MPF * 24 months)

Is this the way to work out on the final amount?

Hope anyone who is familiar with contract based employment shed some light on this. Many thx.

Should really look at the contract since it can varies widely.

Some subtract the expense first to calculate it.
Some anything over $xx amount of income will get it (for sales)

So either check contract or ask your employer before hand.
