How to turn around the situation

** I need the constructive rectify and suggestion  , so 不喜物插 **

What have I done in past year - totally passive as I felt the staff was ignore me,
feel so bad. I became not much (but not all) get involve to the team, been ignore
the need of the staff when they are not asking the help direct to me, just do a
excellent work in my profession but not in managing work and it was taken by
the other one with same position to me.

I 'm now open myself to step forward but the situation is even worse as I just felt
myself in their eyes as 可有可無, seems any effort I have input is useless.

Question and the situation
How do I turn around the situation ?
How should I put myself back in same line of the team with my competitor.
No one could help eventhough my direct manager who know the whole pictures and
I'm working in a desperate environment.

Competitor - babysitter style (擅長長篇大論)
She was totally delicated eventhough the personal time. She always work overtime which
is her habits as will not leave office on time as well as in low season .she worked as a
babysitter to take good care to everyone.  

My style
My style was totally reverse , efficiency & healthy work that off at time is always a priority but
subj to situation. Short & clear instructions given to staff but not to put 10mins to take care
their feeling then back to work, in my eyes, they were already a experienced staff , but now
all became her admirer

E.g. Some basic work issue like the pc or software installation problems could seek help to IT
      direct but the staff will just ask for babysitter for help first.

      Some issue unable to sort out shortly and always talk talk talk during office time to ease
      that a little bit pressure ?

At last, I'm not saying that she is bad and I'm agreed the effectiveness work of her, the above is some
background of how can I to make the regulate in the team.

My point is if they don't afford so many discussion during office time, they could speed up the work instead.
What the discussion should be ask & answer, solutiohns come out that could finished less than 5mins but
they will input some personal ''lo so'' to babysitter and babysitter need time to 安慰 especially the senior level,
don't know why those senior people have been trained been a baby.They should be experiened & independent .

That is also my disagreed that their work is not efficency at all but when I have finished all my work at go sharp,
that is not delicated ? So sad.

Anyway , I have doing input to stay late now. What else you can point out ?

need to read more books on management books, your situation doesnt look too good.
some of us are not very good in expressing at all.
i am one of them, thank god I dont manage ppl at
all.

would it work better if they email u?
sometimes in writing we have to put thoughts down, it could be easier for u to explain in writing than verbal.

Wow, if this is an indication of your "style" of working habit, that says alot.

Lighten up, like screenname said, making small talks is not a waste of time. Each company is different, but the common denominator is we are all humans, not machinery. All work and no play is for robots. I "babysit" people at work too, and in several occasions when i was in a jam, it's this group of people who bail me out.

it seems to me that you are good at doing the work on your own, but poor in working with others and managing people
it is not a matter of right or wrong, different people just work with different styles, as long as they can finish their work before deadline, you should respect and accept they are working like these, rather than trying to turn them into your styles
as you have already working with them for long time, it would be a bit late and difficult to change the situation

Um............I think most people will face this kind of situation at least one time in their lives.......

I think you better claim down and re-evaluate yourself, as the evaluation regarding yourself, from your own mind and from others always have a big gap.

How to narrow the gap is the point your need to focus on.
