點解[NiBr4]2- 係tetrahedral, 唔係square planar ?

如題

問題 :
K2[NiBr4] 係paramagnetic, 但 K2[PtBr4] 係diamagnetic, 解釋

我諗到要答,
[NiBr4]2- 係tetrahedral, 所以energy level 會有2 unpaired e-
[PtBr4]2- 係square planar, 所以energy level 冇unpaired e-

但 Ni 2+ 同Pt 2+ 都係 d8 既transition metal ion
平時學Ni 2+都係square planar
點解釋 ?

The perception that tetracoordinated Ni(II) complexes are all square planar is in fact not true. The complexes of Ni(II) with weak-field ligands such as Cl- or Br- are tetrahedral. The variation of geometry is a compromise of the crystal field splitting energy, the stabilization due to electron pairing, and the electron repulsion between ligands and metal ion.

On the other hand, all tetracoordinated Pt(II) complexes are square planar.
