Have to? Not really. You need to be proactive with your own career.

Depend on what she mean by "junior position" and what area of IT? Is "junior position" = entry level position? Is IT = cable monkey?

Entry level

Why would an employer consider/hire someone with a master degree for an entry position job if s/he can
- hire someone with a BS degree but no working experience
- hire someone with a year or 2 of higher education but 1~3 yr of industry experience
If a company does hire someone with a MS degree, wouldn't this person has some special knowledge that a run of the mill BS degree holder doesn't have?
Maybe the better question to ask is am I better off to postpone my post-graduate education until I gain some practical working experience first.

it depends on your background and choices you might have.
if the junior position is a management/technical trainee program from a big firm, its worth to go ahead. Or if its just a no name company with nothing-to-do title, then its not worth.

Think so. Having a master's degree is not rare in HK.
