NO. Do they have any training? Any trainer show you how to sale?
Any pitching card? If there isn't, u got a lot of homework to do.

Ask more details on the post, if you intend to do sales in HK or mainland China. It will be the biggest challenge.
Asian is very passive & negative. U need more time to develop ur network here.

read more self motivational books,
zig ziglar.
one guy sold a lot of GM cars, joe girard.
then it depends your bozz, some can set unrealistic goals for u to crash & burn too.
And your income can be derived solely on sales then u need to beware your income can be drastically reduced during initial phase.
it can be a double edged sword, u need to weight the both sides before u switch.
Often times once u moved then u can't return to the old cushy job. since is gone !
Some ex sales man will take their accounts to another co.
so u have 0 to start. or the customers kind of bully u too, make u cut deeper deals and your boss is not going to be impressed.
some ppl's personality are more suitable for sales than others, not sure what u are?
every so often i see successful professionals, as they will be millionaires even selling egg or fish balls on the street, as they're very street smart. so to these folks a professional degree will only increase their income potential.

want to make switch to sales position as it got more challenge and higher salary.

u have answers already,
u are motivated by more $$, but in actual sense u have no idea how to sell! And trying to sail an uncharted sea pal.
I can say its not for u from 5000 miles away across the pacific ocean.
selling need to know the product very well, plus good discipline and  analytical skills.
U possess how much of all these?
go read more successful peoples' success stories u might pick up a few things.
even semi retired yours truly day day still try to read all the major papers on line.

the other replies were for the OP, this is for u

all sales needs motivation, u didn't know that, no wonder u only drive an entry level mercedes B klasse.
look if u are in sales u need to aim much higher lor.  such as SL 600 or S600 AMG. Think about a real Merc, they only come in rear wheel drive.
B are very much a glorified mazda.
sales needs certain personalities. And probably u didnt have it all either!
are these relevant to your situation?

the old saying if u can't beat them then u join them.
the mind only gets sharper if u keep sharpening her.

If one is selling insurance, # of friends and family members are very critical.
If one is selling gym membership, # of over weighted friends and family members are very important.
Seriously, there is no preset response to that question. Even if there is one and you use it, you probably won't get the job anyway because the interviewer would have heard it hundred of times already.

jimbo86 2014-5-23 05:40 AM

either of the two are very challenging  very few people succeed in selling life ins I have known less than a handful.
they are usually very tough and hear least amount of no.
once one can do that then income can be very good
who doesnt like $$ but can u easily earn it.
