上月31日，四川成都一名90後女生，送別心愛的貓咪「弟弟」，在生命的最後時刻，她將整個過程紀錄下來。5個月大的「弟弟」，不停用小腦袋頂着女生的下巴，當日牠被獸醫注射了麻醉劑和氰化鉀後，逐漸失去呼吸和心跳。
女主人說，「弟弟」是一隻英國短毛貓，還有9個月大的美國短毛貓「哥哥」，2兄弟每日形影不離，「哥哥」幫「弟弟」舔毛，「弟弟」幫「哥哥」按摩背脊。上月30日，「弟弟」突然在貓砂盆裏嘔吐，她把牠帶去寵物醫院，證實患了傳染性腹膜炎，是貓的絕症。
「你的貓貓在那麼病痛的時候，還在賣萌給你看呢！」獸醫為「弟弟」檢查時，牠睜大着眼睛好像也想看屏幕。之後，女主人以為可以出院回家休養，但獸醫竟吐出「安樂死」3個字，令她一點準備也沒有。
獸醫解釋，這種病在全國幾乎沒有治癒的病例，每日吊鹽水都只能續命，貓咪只會一天比一天更痛苦。女主人看到「弟弟」慢慢變得虛弱起來，心裏敵不過殘酷的現實。她在龍泉山上，把「弟弟」安葬在一棵桃樹下，希望牠能滋養着那棵桃樹，開花結果。
