I didn't have time to try freshwater fishing in HK last year when I visited.  Will make the trip again this year, from August to October.  Any advice as to the best place to try for carp, and are there any catfish in Hong Kong?

There is no carp only fishing pond. Some foreigner do carp fishing at a pay pond in  Pak Nai,  they brought maice as bait.

You can find limited "air breathing catfish" at Ng Tong river.

Thanks for the advice.  I see from other threads that Ng Tong river also have some reasonable carp, looks like reasonable singles (5-8 pounds.)  Any carp in double figures (over 10 pounds), or am I being too wishful?  What sizes do the Catfish get up to, so that I can decide on what gear to bring.

Also, what is the best way via public transport to get to 1/ Ng Tong river, and 2/ Pak Nai?
