今日沙田日馬賽事上演煞科賽事，結果本地的澳洲藉長駐練馬師約翰摩亞穩超前另一個多屆冠軍練馬師蔡約翰，多年來首奪冠軍練馬師殊榮，冠軍騎師寳座，也由連續多年冠軍騎師韋達手上交到今年戰無不勝的雷神，莫雷拉手上了。
講起香港賽馬，1980年代沙田馬場未啓用之前，原來馬埸一直都設喺跑馬地的，歷史之悠久，要追塑到1846年本港開埠初期，英國貴族喜歡賭博和策騎馬匹，後來發展成為打吡賽事馬匹競技項目，初時由中國北方蒙古引入短身馬匹，後來才開始在英國引入馬種飼養。
19世紀英國人在中國的影響力，不只賽馬投資，就是軍事上也很有力量，清廷腐敗，海戰連埸失敗，滿清洋務大臣急埸謀對策，其中一個辧法就是到英國當地考察，與購入巨型巡洋先進航艦更換舊式木船。未完，待續編輯
