Some parts of the letter have been given to you.

Dear editor,

I am writing to express my view on an article posted on the Young Post regarding a statement that an 8:00 am start to the school day makes student feel tired and sleepy. I am going to analysis the major reason first. Then, I would like to comment on a 9:00 am start.

First of all, students lack sleeping time because of heavy workloads. Children nowadays have to join various activities and tutorial classes after school. Undoubtedly, when they come back home, it is already 9 to 10 pm. They are forced to keep finishing their homework at midnight. It causes the lack of sleep problem. Insufficient sleeping time and a poor quality of sleep contribute to being sleepy for them. Parents should get the blame for putting too much pressure on their kids.

If parents and schools really want their children and students become energetic again, less activities should be arranged for them. A 9:00 am start cannot solve the problem. The root of the problem is too many activities leading to a lack of rest.
Parents will not reduce the amount of activities because of one hour later arriving school. Worse still, it is counterproductive if parents ask their children to join more lessons owing to one hour later arriving school. How to improve the competitiveness of their children is the only question that parents always care about.

All in all, either it is 8:00 am or it is 9:00 am, the problem of deficiency of sleep cannot be solved. I truly believe if parents take the initiative by putting less pressure on their kids, their children will be energetic and healthy once again.
