I have just graduated from LSE LLM with Merit (63%), and I did my LLB at a lower ranking university in UK.
I am looking to apply for 2017/18 PCLL. Done with 5 conversions.
Any opinion on whether you would go for HKU, CU or CityU PCLL if you were me, taking into account my chances of entry?
Overall average: 2:1 class with 63%
Contract 62, Tort 65, Criminal 63, Public 73, Land 72, Equity 73
Other modules including company law, commercial law are in the 60s.
(one of the module (litigation) was 48% hence pulled down my average mark)

play safe, cityu...
hku pt舊年收生分數跌咗(confirmed by Alexandra Norton), 最低收到60(應該係名牌大學...), 今年又升架喇...

The three institutions are not likely to consider your LLM grades... CityU only considers LLM if you got an extremely good grade (i.e high distinction)
Looking at your core subjects you did pretty well except for litigation, but then litigation wasn't really a core subject for all three institutions. Only HKU looks into the average grade of core modules (i.e contract, tort, equity and trust etc.) more than your overall average. HKU seems to be a more suitable choice for you.
Besides, HKU has 340 places this year and the lower quartile they accepted last year was around 57- 58% for full time HKU PCLL.

I went to the hku info session and they told me this... basically they told me that last year admission scores were significantly low
LordSumption 2017-3-5 18:46
Thanks for that!! Appreciate!! Are you going to apply this year?

Would you consider 65% safe to be admitted in FT HKU?

This year is still being affected by double cohort. In 2012, HKU admitted 268 students to the five-year joint degree programs (BBA law, Govt & Laws and BA law) and they will graduate this year. The 2011 intake for joint degree programs was only 150.

應該無咁低, 我今年都有去admission talk.
印象中個speaker話最低都60, full time爭崩頭, 佢應該係講part time
睇舊post, 香討有個61入到(UOL LLB)
