After you get two equations, you can find the coordinate of point A and can show that those lines are perpendicular.
Then you can directly calculate two products OA X AB and DA X AE

Actually, it is very simple. Dont know why the question guide one to solve it by Co-geom.
Just prove that AEB ~ AOD, then the result will follows.
