如果以古典 Ising 模型同古典 Heisenberg 模型嚟比較的話,分別就係前者只有兩個方向 (上/下, +1/-1,...) 而後者就可以指向三維嘅任何方向。亦都因為咁佢地所含嘅對稱特性唔同,前者係間斷而後者係連續。所以前者適合用嚟研究有整體反射對稱性嘅係統,而後者適合用嚟研究有整體旋轉對稱性嘅系統,係統計力學入面佢地係屬於唔同嘅統一類。
