Hi all,I am a LLB student studying in the UK and hoping to become a barrister in Hong Kong.I have done some mini-pupillages already but was hoping for some advice before the time I apply for pupillages.(1) Do most people do their pupillage in different chambers with different pupil-masters or in the same chambers with multiple pupil-masters? Is there a reason for this?(2) How do people choose which pupil-masters to apply to? (2) While I have some mini-pupillages, I think I will wind up applying to some chambers which I have not had a mini-pupillage before. (e.g. I have applied for mini-pupillages there before but got no reply) Since I don't have the right kind of family connections, is there any way I can enhance my application to make them interested?(3) Any other advice which you think would be useful for me!

Important points about pupillage that I'd like to share with you:
1. You don't need to have family connections.
2. Work hard to get a PCLL offer first. You will know more about pupillage after you meet more friends who also intend to be barristers. Ask yourself: which areas of law are you interested in... Crim or civil??
3. Do some research. Certain chambers have set deadline for applications and they have their pupillage committee. Know "him/her" more from chambers' websites or by reading his or her cases (judiciary.gov.hk / hklii)...
4. You need to do at least 3 months of civil work/criminal work over the 12 months of pupillage. In other words, the combination can be 1 civil + 3 crim / 2 civil + 2 crim / 3 civil + 1 crim.
5. You can only have one senior counsel as your pupilmaster.
6. Barristers (PQE <5) cannot take pupils.
7. Don't send mass mails. Secure offers one by one. Some chambers do not interview applicants until April.

Thank you very much for your answer! I am very grateful for your help since most of my friends want to be solicitors and can't really answer my questions :)

And if you have to ask these questions here, you probably won’t make it. [/quote]
Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions! I'm really thankful:)
