I downloaded "xenialpup64-7.5-uefi.iso" and burnt it to an SD card. I booted my PC from the SD card and got the following:
However, "puppy_xenialpup64_7.5.sfs" is definitely on the SD card.
Can anyone help?

xenialpup64-7.5-uefi.iso
ISO file is just only for CD or DVD ,
Not for SD or HDD / SSD.
So you must use any software ( Like Nero Burner )
to burn it directly as a Bootable CD or DVD.
After running the Xenialpup and you can save it into your
HDD or USB as an updated image sfs file.
But if you want to install it into your SD or USB , then use
Built in Tool from Xenialpup THE INSTALL etc.
RV356484 2018-10-3 04:54
1. download the above mentioned file XXXXXXXX.iso
2. use your windows platform , run the Burner like Nero Burning Rom etc
3. burn it as a Puppy Linux Live CD
4. use this Live CD boot up your PC
5. click the desktop icon of install
6. insert your usb stick into your pc
7. let the applet of install to install the Puppy Linux
8. insert the above usb stick into your pc and boot it up
9. any new updated settings or applets installed it will refreshed for next time
10. Puppy Linux can re Mastering for making a new Live CD for your own.

For install Puppy Linux on SD Card :
1. Download iso file
2. Use the iso file and burn a Bootable CD/DVD Disk
3. Run above made CD/DVD
4. Use above CD built in tool and install Puppy Linux on SD Card
5. For making Multi-Boot by running SD Card ,use GRUB4DOS for
boot up system and select which system ( Dos , Win or Linux )
by menu.lst file ( text file like Autoexec.bat or config.sys etc )

Do you mean after the PC boots from the Xenialpup DVD, I can copy "puppy_xenialpup64_7.5.sfs" from the DVD and paste it to a USB drive? What is the path to the .sfs file?
RV356484 2018-10-3 14:48
after the PC boots from the Xenialpup DVD
then use the Tool named " Install " to
install ( remember it is install NOT as you
think so simple COPY those files into your
SD Card ).
You can read my own hand writing note .

the same SD card
SO I know now , your SD Card was already installed another
version of Linux. So it was bootable.
But..but..
to run Puppy Linux it needed :
XXXXXXXXX.sfs
initrd.gz
vmlinuz
files
YOU BETTER USE ANOTHER SD CARD TO INSTALL PUPPY LINUX ON IT AGAIN.

You got me wrong.
A few months ago, I booted my PC from the Linux Mint Live SD card and then installed Mint on a USB HDD.
Yesterday, I burnt "xenialpup64-7.5-uefi.iso" to the same SD card. During the burning process, all the original Mint files were erased.
RV356484 2018-10-3 17:04
since you downloaded the file of XXXXXXXXXX.iso
so at the very first moment , you should use
cd/dvd writer and buner software to open this
xxxxxxxxxx.iso file and burn a Live CD.
The above procedure is basically what you have
to do first.
Remember there are 2 ways to run Puppy Linux on SD Card.
1. Using Installed Puppy Linux Type . ( made by own Live CD
tool of " install " )
2. Using GRUB4DOS , to run XXXXXXXXXXXX.sfs file and others
like initrd.gz , vmlinuz etc. Once it was booted , will extract
the image file of XXXXXXXXXX.sfs to pc RAM.
To get the XXXXXXXXXXX.sfs image file , run Live CD and during
shut down moment select save mode , then it will create an image
file of XXXXXXXXXXXXXX.sfs .

I successfully installed Puppy on a USB drive. The language pack "cnpack_half-4xx-20100606" could not be installed, while "gcin-1.4.4" was installed successfully. However, no Chinese characters could be displayed. What can I do?

I am now downloading the language pack above. Its size is 2.0 GB. Why is it so big?
RV356484 2018-10-3 22:59
the file name should be : cnpack_half-4xx-20100606.pet
your windows setting should open as enable to
read hidden file and file extension name.

In my post #11, when I wrote "cnpack_half-4xx-20100606", I actually meant "cnpack_half-4xx-20100606.pet", which could not be installed on Xenialpup 7.5 64-bit on the USB drive.
I successfully installed gcin-1.4.4.pet, xenial-7.0.4csip201804-zhhk-16.0.1.pet, xenial-7.0.8.1-zhhk-16.0.1.pet, xenial-7.0.8.6-zhhk-16.0.1.pet, xenial-7.5-zhhk-16.0.1.pet, xenial64-7.0.8.1-zhhk-16.1.0.pet, xenial64-7.0.8.6-zhhk-16.1.0.pet, xenial64-7.5-zhhk-16.1.0.pet, xenialcsip-7.0.4-zhhk-16.0.1.pet, xenialpup-7.0.3-zhhk-16.0.0.pet, and xenial-rt.7.5-zhhk-16.0.1.pet.
However, no Chinese characters could be displayed. Perhaps I should give up.

I have installed the following packs downloaded from the above page.
However, no Chinese characters can be displayed.
Do you know which version of Puppy the packs apply to?
chinese_pack_total-4.1.0.8-tw-wqy-4.pet
gcin-1.4.5.pet
oxim-1.2.2.pet
locale_zh_TW-Big5.pet
ukai-ttc-0.2.pet
uming-ttc-0.2.pet
RV356484 2018-10-28 21:34
chinese_pack_total-4.1.0.8-tw-wqy-4.pet
gcin-1.4.5.pet
for older version of Puppy ,
not the latest.
other I think for Chinese Characters input method.
You try to download Puppy 4.1.2
But... for pppoe ( ADSL Modem ) , I think Puppy not
support.

Why should I use Puppy if I cannot access the Internet on it?

Why should I use Puppy if I cannot access the Internet on it?
You should use your ADSL Modem connect by LAN
CABLE to your Router ( with wifi out and also LAN
CABLE out ) . So to build up your Network in House.
Then all your Mobile Phones and PC can use wireless
connection to internet.
If you dont have Router in house , you are outdated.

Scroll down to: Start the program "Menu | Network | Roaring Penguin PPPoE ADSL".
Puppy seems to support PPPoE.

Normally , Router in house for using should be
wired ( LAN ) and wireless ( wifi ).
My Router was brought in Aug this year ,
about $500.- quite good .

There are 2 ways to install Puppy on a USB Stick .
1. Run Puppy Live CD own tool to install on USB.
You dont have to do any format. Its EXT format .
2. Use third Parties to format your USB as bootable ,
by FAT32. Use GRUB for Boot up ,
Copy those files of Puppy like xxx.sfs
and other files.
Remark : Since 2009 I started to learn it , thereafter
I stopped it totally after few years.
Now a day I nearly forgot it. Those scanned pic were

I have given up. Thanks for your help anyway.
