要講得到,先聽得懂

因工作關係,每天要跟印度人開conference call,佢地英語好流利,但始終我有時聽唔明佢地講咩,加上我講都麻麻,我如何可以改善聽(尤其D音難聽)、講能力?

聽多 d 唔同口音,習慣咗就得
但首先係要你聽得明neutral口音

但印度人的口音確實難聽,特別係佢地一輪咀都無停。

多睇多聽嗰啲clips可能對你會有幫助

他們所的那套英文的用字, 同香港唔同, 所以唔明。
學定義、同一個字的不同讀音

學得叻與否, 可以入到頭2甲與否, 都係學相同的同一套英文

That’s the National Spelling Bee contest held in the US, the kids who get to the finals literally studied dictionaries, you will not normally encounter many of these words in daily conversations or even in reading, so you’re wrongly picking a special case to make generalizations about Indian’s English usage (in fact this clip has nothing to do with Indians at all beyond the fact that the contestants are of Indian or South Asian heritage)

The fact is that you will not encounter people like that in daily life even in The UK or the USA

I'd disagree. People would think you are crazy or pretentious af if you used those words in your everyday speech. The kids in the video, regardless of ethnicities, need to know those words for the sake of competition. They learn it to win a contest, not for them to converse with people.

I mean just learn the Chinese meaning is not enough.
We should know the definition, examples and more of
each word that we learn.

The thing we should learn from these kids is how they (or their parents) set the goal and go about achieving it.
