My case is similar as you. I am going to LondonU though received the HKU Space CPE offer (rejected) wanna study module by module.........

but from what I interpreted from forum, CPE seems easier than London U in terms of exam. But in terms of class schedule CPE demands 3 evenings a week.

I'm not sure about this..... For the lecture schedule, LondonU is intensive, consecutive days . Take Contract Law as an example, 12 days intensive courses, each class 3 hours... and also they will provide exam skills seminars, mock exam and revision lectures, which are included in titution fee. It seems that the support is reasonable.

Here is my thought:
1. if you dont take action now, you may regret in same years later and wonder why you have not had decided that study when you still can.
2. If you dont intend to be a lawyer, you have plenty of Options.
3. If study law is an affirmative answer, the next question would be which course to study.
4. I would suggest UOL, it’s flexIabe

If you want to secure a PCLL place, studying UOL is much more challenging than MMU or the other GDL providers. the major reason is that it’s not easy to get a good grades for three subjects (land, turst and jurisprudence) at UOL. Second, UOL requires you to study in a highly disciplined way. It means that you cannot take a break or on holiday trip during the years of study because you should learn, memorize and revise all study materials and then practice those knowledge with the past exam papers . In fact, you should spend at least 3 hours a day to study from Sep to next May/June for at least 3 years.
Having said that, if you do not want to get into PCLL but graduate with a 2:2, lesser effort should be required.
Last but not least, it does not matter how well you did in your first degree or your master(s), studying a law degree at UOL may be out of your expectation. Never assume that your first hon degree can help you to get a high 2:1 in UOL. It is possible but i wonder if there has been many successful cases in the past.
FYI

Yes I am.

I think that you're not ready for attempting an LLB yet. You should try introductory law courses like Cert/Dip in Legal Studies to see if you're really interested in law/you can cope with law. Coz LLB is demanding and somewhat frustrating.
Ph3n0m 2020-6-29 10:55
Honestly, I think if you want to just do it for interest, it's totally fine. Just take it easy and do it bit by bit.
But if you are wanting to switch career, my advice is don't bother. I am in similar situation, early 30s and did law in a JD program. I did pretty well in my studies (~3.7 GPA). But what I realised is the legal industry in HK is extremely discriminatory towards older candidates. Younger students with poorer GPA than me got TCs easily, but I have yet to secure one.
So do it if you really have interest in it, just don't make a career switch.

May you share experience to study contract law and criminal law?
Ph3n0m 2020-6-29 15:26
Are you asking me?
Some personal observations from my experience:
(1) Start studying from Day 1, don't leave it till just before exams
(2) Try to map out the major concepts you will explore in that week, and do the readings assigned faithfully
(3) Once you've done the readings and attended the lecture, try to put what you know in a simple mindmap. As you do further reading, flesh out the mindmap with cases as well as sub-concepts.
(4) During exam period, all you have to do is read through the mindmaps and do past-year papers. You can listen back to the recorded lectures if you have points you are unsure of.
That was basically my study process during my JD.

me 35+ , studying UOL LLB 2nd year
