雖然製成的壺非常美，但因為收縮率非常大，常在20%以上，燒製時容易變形、破碎，因此製作相當困難。趙莊朱泥，常做為調配土以減低製作難度，純趙莊山朱泥壺很少，且多為小壺。因為收縮比太大，大壺很難做出來。

燒成的壺身紅中帶黃、朱而不豔，用久顏色會更深沉好看。因為收縮高，燒成的壺表面會有皺皮，即是「無皺不成朱」。
趙莊朱泥:cny2018_04:，具有1. 產量少。2. 壺燒製困難。3. 受市場歡迎。等三樣因素，所以真壺價格非常貴，一把小壺成本常在人民幣1500元以上。消費者在選購時要特別注意，就算價格高於人民幣1500元，也常有假貨。

朱泥是頂級的紫砂泥料，產地有黃龍山、趙莊山。
黃龍山產的叫黃龍山朱泥，趙莊山產的則稱趙莊朱泥、石黃朱泥或趙莊山朱泥。
趙莊山朱泥製成的紫砂壺，紅中帶黃，帶皺皮，非常美觀。趙莊朱泥是目前僅存的朱泥礦，但開採已經很少，市面上並不多見。

也是公認的紫砂極品泥料，由趙莊山嫩泥原礦底層開採，並經過篩選提鍊而成。這種泥料外觀為淡黃色，製成的壺則為紅色帶土黃，且帶皺皮，非常美觀。
